Modern societies need safe, reliable, fast, economic and environmentally friendly means of transportation and increasingly the public look to ac and dc railways for solutions. One of the key issues for meeting these objectives is the provision of a high quality supply of electricity to the railway network for traction, signalling and station power.

LPA has much experience in planning and designing the wide spectrum of electrical systems found on any railway today. This includes design and project management of ac/dc traction substation packages, signalling power supplies, associated cabling, catenary systems and third/fourth rail systems for heavy and light rail applications.
