LPA was commissioned by an investment company to carry out technical due diligence of transmission and distribution assets in West Africa.

Nuclear Power Station at Hinkley Point C, UK Power Networks - 275 kV and 11 kV
LPA was commissioned to design major substations for multi-million Hinkley Point C Construction Electrical Supply Project. The detailed design covered cable layout, switchroom arrangement, HV switchgear panels, LV pillars, protection settings, battery supply and SCADA system.

PV Generation - Harmonic Studies, Scottish & Southern Energy, UK
LPA was commissioned to measure and perform harmonic penetration studies for the addition of the PV generation and to provide guidance and recommendations for any mitigation measures.

Norfolk Coast Wind Park Grid Connection, EDF Energy
System studies to plan a 132 kV grid connection for an off-shore 300 MW wind park. Studies included power flows, short circuit and harmonic analysis.

Project Management for Transmission System, Nigeria - 330/132/33 kV system
LPA holds responsibility for project management, execution and site supervision of 330 kV, 132 KV and 33 kV transmission and distribution substations and overhead lines.

EDF Energy – London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 Project - 33/11 kV network
LPA was commissioned to perform distribution system conceptual and outline design, specifications, bid reviews and approval of contractor designs. Substations and cable systems were designed and also managed design delivery.

London Underground Ltd - Sub Surface Lines Power Upgrade Package 1A - Independent Design Authority - 22/11 kV and DC systems
LPA was engaged by Enterprise Rail to perform the role of the Independent Design Authority (IDA) for design assurance purposes for AC and DC substation plant, SCADA, protection and control systems and high voltage cabling for Package 1A.

National Grid Electricity Transmission/Scottish Power Transmission - SubSynchronous Resonance Study - 400 kV system
LPA was engaged by NGET/SPT Upgrades Ltd. to perform a SSR study following the proposed introduction of series capacitors to the GB 400/275 kV transmission system.

ESB International Ltd – Grid Connection Consultancy Service - 400/275/132 kV system
LPA was engaged to review and advice on new generation connection opportunities in the England and Wales transmission system. Following feasibility studies further detailed studies were performed.

Intervex Russia to Turkey HVDC Interconnector
Feasibility study for a proposed HVDC 1000 MW link between Russia and Turkey. The study considered available technology, use of Mass Impregnated Non-Draining cables submerged 2000 m below the sea and transmission reinforcements in both countries.

LPA was commissioned to expand the power system of a phosphate mining facility by creating a model of the network in IPSA to determine power flows in the system and advising the client on optimized circuit configurations and overhead line routes.

Generator Sizing and modeling for Emergency Diesel Generator, West Burton
LPA was commissioned to carry out a magnetization inrush current phenomena study during the energisation of a 400 kVA generator transformer.

Power System Study for SABIC Olefins 6 Power Plant
LPA was commissioned by SABIC to carry out the power system studies and provide recommendations to the client on the effect of addition of a new 33 MW steam turbine generator to their existing distribution network.

Manufacturing Plant Improvement and Market Survey for global manufacturer
LPA was commissioned by a global electrical equipment manufacturer to carry out market study into substation equipment and power cables ranging from 11 kV to 500 kV, and telecommunication cables in sixteen countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

System studies to plan the future power supply system and produce a conceptual design for reinforcements to the LUL HV power system in order to facilitate the increase in demand at Sub Surface Line. Assessed the harmonic levels and voltage fluctuations at DNO connection points and other relevant substations.

Owner’s Engineer role - Waste to Energy Power Generation Plant at Allington
LPA engineers were involved with the design concept, preparing specifications, and the review of turnkey contractors design for a 43 MW EfW power plant in Kent.

LPA conducted due diligence of the two northern electricity distribution companies prior to privatisation. Capex stream was devised to the horizon year to include in the financial model.
