Project : Power Plant Technical Due Diligence
Client : Confidential
Location : Asia
Period Services Provided : June – July 2004

Project Summary

A client owning a large portfolio of power and steam generating assets in Asia was preparing for a possible initial public offering (IPO). The gas-fired CCGT and coal-fired power plants at several
sites have a combined capacity of circa 1’700 MWe.

As a part of this process a technical due diligence report was required by an “Independent Technical Advisor” for the purpose of providing an objective and independent technical assessment of the owner’s operating power, steam and water assets.
The report was written for incorporation in any public information document to be issued as part of the initial public share offering in respect of these assets. The due diligence exercise was carried out reviewing performance records and contracts at the client’s offices followed up with site visits to interview the operating staff, inspect the plant and obtain any necessary technical information relating to the plant configuration and condition.

LPA contributed to the technical due diligence exercise visiting all of the facilities and reporting on
the electrical power generation, transmission, protection and control and auxiliary systems.
